Our Story

Welcome to
Nadine's

Christian and Pamela Schienle, along with their son Jagger, have opened Nadine's Restaurant — formerly Jennifer's German Restaurant in Yorktown for over thirty years. The Schienle family have been searching for the perfect location for a sister restaurant to Sel et Poivre in NYC, a French bistro that has been in the family for three decades.

With Christian being from Vienna, Austria, they crafted a menu combining traditional German dishes with French classics — plus a special dish of the night.

Nadine is Pamela's middle name, and represents their passion for food, hospitality, family and friends — or, as they say in Austria, Gemütlichkeit.

This place is a gem! Quaint indoor seating and beautiful outdoor seating in the patio all in that German style. Just feels very warm, and charming. Then there’s the food, traditional German menu, tons of options, all authentic. Beers come in 1/2 liter or a full liter option (which is almost comically enormous but again just feels authentic lol). Great specials…the one I always go for is Sunday’s Chicken Cordon Bleu 👌 Parking lot is small, can be a little tough depending on time of day but people mostly just park along the street in those cases.

Great atmosphere. Switzerland beat Columbia. Check out the specials that are not on the menu. I had the pork chop with a reduction with an indescribably good topping on a wine reduction I think, they knocked it out of the park.
